2. Report the claim properly. Read your policy, if you have a copy available to you, then report the claim in the right manner. If you have questions, simply call a Public Insurance Adjuster and ask them for free.
3. Take photos with written captions like "Master Bath" & "Damage to Front Door". Photos without captions are barely useful in this situation.
4. Get everyone to a comfortable living situation. Get a large hotel room or suite, the insurance company probally owes you a home like the one that burned until you can re-occupy yours. Take the pets to a boarding facility or keep them in your hotel with you.
